Switching on a light in children’s lives

When Sam first came to our attention he was totally withdrawn. We couldn’t tell whether he was happy or sad. He’d given up even trying to express himself.  Our mobile sensory equipment gradually unlocked the possibility for him to speak.

Imagine the excitement when he finally found a way to say what he wanted:  a glass of blackcurrant juice. This was the first choice he’d ever made for himself. Since then we’ve been able to find out all about Sam – who he is, what he likes.  Now he doesn’t just talk, he laughs.

If you were able to provide the £1,500 needed to pay for mobile sensory equipment you could work similar miracles for other children with complex learning disabilities.

You would literally be switching on a light in their lives.  Building their confidence.  Helping them to find friends.  Opening up the possibility of bright and meaningful futures as adults.  What an extraordinary gift!
